Good afternoon to everyone!
In this post I am going to explain the different Future tenses, as I reckon you find them difficult.
To talk about PLANS we can use two: Present Continuous as future and Be Going To
To talk about PREDICTIONS we can use just Future with Will
To talk about uncertain future events we can use Might
In order to use them I have chosen a future event which can be: Next Summer Holidays
PLANS:
Present Continuous: I am travelling to Egypt in August.
It means that travelling to Egypt is an arranged plan as I know when it's going to take place (in August) and probably I have already bought the flight tickets and hired my hotel.
Be going to: I am going to travel to Egypt.
This is a plan which has not been arranged yet. I have in mind to go there but I am not 100% sure.
PREDICTIONS:
Future with Will: I will travel to Egypt.
We use this tense in the moment of speaking.
For instance someone ask me: 'What are you going to do next August?'
And I answer:'I'll travel to Egypt'
It is a prediction made in the moment of speaking.
UNSURE FUTURE EVENTS
Might: I might go to Egypt
We use might when we are not sure about that future event.
