Grammar Point: Superlatives
Good morning!
As I did a couple of post ago, in this one, I am going to explain how to build superlative sentences.
When you are using a superlative adjective you are expressing its highest quality.

SUPERLATIVE SENTENCES
THINK if the adjective is short or long. Short adjectives have just a syllable whereas long adjectives have two or more.
Short adjectives: The + adjective + est
- The lion is the fastest animal.
Long adjectives: The + most + adjective
- The most intelligent animal is the dolphin.

COMPARATIVE SENTENCES
THINK: Is the adjective we need to make the comparison short or long?
Short adjectives: 1 syllable
Long adjectives: 2 syllables or more.
- Short adjectives: Adjective + er + than
For example: The lion is faster than the turttle.

For example: Lucy is more intelligent than Diana.
